Three of the ten winners of the DeLill Nasser Travel Award (Genetics Society of America) are Genetics graduate students.
Xu Chen (Barry Ganetzky's student) and Yunsik Kang (Arash Bashirullah's student) will attend the 52nd Drosophila Research Conference. Ali Soukup (Nancy Keller's student) will attend the 26th Fungal Genetics Conference.
From The GSA Reporter (Jan 2011) "The awards are named in honor of DeLill Nasser (1929-2000), who was instrumental in promoting genetics research during her 22 years at the National Science Foundation as the program director in eukaryotic genetics. Nasser was particularly supportive of young scientists - those at the beginning of their careers and those trying to open new areas of genetics inquiry."
