WiscCal

WisCal is the free campus-wide calendaring and scheduling application. WiscCal provides a broad set of features to help individuals and groups at the UW manage their time more effectively.

Basic features include the ability to set meetings with 70,000 other WiscCal users on campus, schedule appointments, import athletic and social events, manage tasks, download student classes and create daily notes and reminders. You can also allow someone else to work on your behalf by granting them additional access rights to your calendar.

WiscCal currently runs on a system called Oracle Calendar. WiscCal can be accessed in two different ways:

  • Using the web-based version, which allows users to access their calendars from any computer with Internet connection. Campus users can start using WiscCal right away simply by clicking the calendar icon on the blue task bar in the My UW-Madison portal.
  • Using what is called a desktop or native client, which means you download the calendar software directly on to your desktop. Although loading the software on your desktop requires a few additional steps, it is the best option, providing an easier and more user-friendly interface. It is also necessary to use a desktop client for the optimal performance of WiscCal Plus.
